Hi, I’m Andrew Briggs – a photographer turned UX/UI designer with a passion for storytelling through visual design. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and throughout my life, nature has been a constant inspiration. From the stunning landscapes of the Columbia Gorge to the majestic Mount Hood, I’ve spent much of my time capturing these outdoor adventures with my camera. Photography has always been more than just a hobby for me – it’s a way to connect with the world around me and share those connections with others.
My journey into photography started in high school, and over the years, it evolved into a deep passion for capturing not just the beauty of nature but the emotional moments that define human experiences. During my time at Principia College, I explored photography further, shooting everything from sports to conferences. I even had the chance to study abroad in Greece and Turkey, where I spent 10 weeks immersed in ancient art and culture, gaining new perspectives on the world and the people in it.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Studio Arts with a focus on graphics, I continued to explore both landscapes and intimate portraits – particularly in wedding photography, where I can tell an entire story through moments of love and connection.
Today, I’m embarking on an exciting new path in UX/UI design. Over the years, I’ve come to realize that design has always been an integral part of my life, from the way I composed photographs to how I presented my work. UX design feels like a natural evolution of my creative journey, offering me the opportunity to create meaningful and impactful experiences for users. I’m excited to blend my design skills with my passion for helping others, and I’m currently building my expertise in this field through hands-on learning and courses.
When I’m not diving into design, you can find me in the great outdoors, hiking, climbing, or exploring Colorado’s mountains with my wife. I also love experimenting with photography techniques, refining my skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. And when I can, I make time to catch up with friends or visit my family back in Oregon.
Whether through a camera lens or a design project, my goal is always the same: to tell compelling stories and create experiences that resonate.
